Sheikh Zaid Abdelrahim

Our community is blessed with a multifaceted leader—a scholar, educator, community advocate, and spiritual guide. His journey, marked by academic excellence, spiritual depth, and a dedication to community service, reflects a commitment to holistic growth.

  • Master degree in Education M.Ed (Educational Management & Leadership).
  • Studied the Islamic Sciences with eminent scholars including Alazhar.
  • Former Imam of several Masajid & Islamic centers in Puerto Rico and Florida, currently is the Imam of the Islamic Center of Pine Bluff.
  • Worked as a teacher and department chair (QAIS subjects) in Islamic Schools in Florida.
  • Community leader, spokesman, and Public Speaker
  • Started his career as a scientist and worked in the pharmaceutical industry.

Sheikh Fahmy AbdelKawy

Imam and Director of Quran Institute

Sheikh Fahmy AbdelKawy, a distinguished scholar from Al-Azhar, joined our community as the Imam and Director of the Quran Institute.
Sheikh Fahmy brings with him 17 years of experience as the Fatwa Counselor at the Fatwa Department in Egypt, specializing in Da’wah and Islamic culture. With postgraduate studies in Islamic Sharia and scholarly licenses in various fields, he is well-equipped to lead our community in matters of faith and knowledge.

His extensive teaching background includes Quran, Tajweed, interpretation, jurisprudence, and inheritance, with a track record of conducting academic programs in Egypt, Singapore, and the United States. Sheikh Fahmy is dedicated to serving Muslim minorities in the West, issuing fatwas, and training specialists in moderate Islamic thought.
Having previously directed educational centers and served as the Director of Scientific Relations at an Islamic institution, Sheikh Fahmy brings a wealth of experience to our community. Additionally, he has led pilgrims and Umrah performers from Egypt and America, providing invaluable religious guidance and sermons.

Out of the numerous religious centers in Wheaton, including more than 40 churches, there is only one Islamic institution The Islamic Center of Wheaton.
